Greetings Fellow Readers! Welcome to another round of ranting. I have announcement regarding the Wednesday Rants, please read at the end, but for now let's begin.
[Metatopia 2016]
Link: http://www.dexposure.com/m2016.html
So I signed up for Metatopia. I'm waiting on registration at the moment, but this a gathering of developers and tabletop fans to playtest prototypes. I went last year with 'Splatterbomb™' and had successful playtests and input. This year I will be bringing my deck building fighting game for blind playtesting. As soon as my registration is complete and I everything is in order, I will provide any information needed for those who are attending and interested in playtesting my game.
[Splatterbomb™]
Right now, 'Splatterbomb' the board game is sitting on standby because I did not expect my deck building fighting game to be in blind playtesting stages this soon, which is good. So I want to have two complete tabletop games to submit at the same time. Sorry I am not going to bring it to Metatopia, all of my time and energy there will be for my deck building game.
As for the proof of concept "animated" video, the audio voice work is done, I just have to make the "animation" and fill in the blanks. It's a bit stalled due to real life and my deck building game. However, I can say that it was very interesting writing a screenplay. It went 15 pages long, but I'm not sure how that will translate to video, since my research showed that 1 page equals 1 minute of screentime, if I read the correctly.
Peanut Butter Jelly (Splatterbomb™ Theme) and the Splatterbomb T-Shirts are still available at Amazon/iTunes and Spreadshirt.com respectively. Grab yourself a copy today.
[The Compilation of Prose and Thought]
So I finished gathering up all of my stories that I ended on Kindle and compiled them together with 'The Compilation of Prose and Thought'. I chose to remove the 'Thoughts on Writing' segments from the book, because I felt I haven't achieved anything that would warrant me talk about writing without having a handful of house published in my belt. So, I removed that and folded in my Kindle releases with unreleased work. There will be a variety of prose to read from poetry to world building to short 5 chapters stories. It is a decent sized book. This book will be focused on finding a house publisher rather than be released on Kindle or other outlets.
[Arcana Magi Universe]
Season 7 will start in October on Fictionaut. Stay tuned to 'New and Notes' for dates and times.
The updates for some of the stories are coming soon. They will be up, so please hang in there.
'Arcana Magi Universe Short Collection' is still available on Amazon Kindle with exclusive shorts not found on Fictionaut. Grab your copy today.
[Kindle]
So the stories have ended on Kindle except for 'The Impossible Man' and 'Arcana Magi Universe Short Collection'. They are both still available and ready to be read. Be sure to grab yourself a copy today.
[Wednesday Rants]
So, right now I am in the middle of a real life scenario that is helping financially. Between this, 'Arcana Magi' Season 7, my table top games, 'Splatterbomb' proof of concept, comic book scripts and now Metatopia 2016, I have no more room in my schedule to write the Wednesday Rants for the rest of 2016.
So Wednesday Rants is going into a hiatus until 2017. Please check 'NEWS and NOTES' for any detailed information. I thank you for your understanding and patience. Fall 2016 is going to be a very overwhelming season.
That is all for the rants. Thank you for listening.
Until 2017...
See ya.

Wednesday Rants: August 2016 Edition
Greetings Fellow Readers! Welcome to another round of ranting. It's gotten this month, but at least there is another rant coming now. Let's begin.
[Arcana Magi Universe]
The re-writes pacing along fine. I am currently focusing on spelling errors and any potential plot holes. Grammar for the time being is taking a step back since I am still juggling with Splatterbomb™ and other table top games. But I definitely want to take care of spelling at least and clear out plot holes.
[Splatterbomb™]
So, while the submission stage is moving along, I am looking into doing a little something special for Splatterbomb. There is no definitive date yet, but I would like to create a Proof of Concept video for a Splatterbomb cartoon. Now I am stressing that this is a Proof of Concept video. It will a 1 frame per second animation. It's purpose is to help me learn how to write a proper screenplay and let me expand my writing craft. When this video gets posted will be announced in a later date, but I will be posting it my Studio Coqui YouTube channel.
[NYC-Playtest]
This Saturday, August 20th at 12:30 PM. NYC-Playtest will be hosting another playtest session at Brooklyn Game Lab in Brooklyn, New York. I will be bring my deck building game for playtesting. Be sure to try out all the local developer's prototypes while your there. Their games are amazing.
[Convention Appearances]
Due to Splatterbomb™ in its current submission stage, I will not be attending any conventions this year. I am probably going to attend Metatopia Playtest event in November, but the decision is not final. If I do go, it will most likely be my deck building game and not Splatterbomb. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for any decisions.
[Products]
'The Impossible Man' and 'Arcana Magi Short Collection' are available on Kindle.
'Splatterbomb™' T-Shirts are still available on Spreashirt.com.
Peanut Butter Jelly (Splatterbomb™ Theme) is still available on iTunes and Amazon.
Be sure to check out my YouTube channel - Studio Coqui and check out some videos I have made for the past couple of years.
Grab yourself 1 of these copies, or check out the videos, today.
-Thank you all for listening to my rants.
Until next time...

Wednesday Rants: July 2016 Edition
Greetings Fellow Readers! Welcome to another round of ranting. Vacation is over and the year is still long ahead. So let's get started.
[Kindle]
On Monday, July 25th at 10:00 PM EST, I will be ending the Kindle print run for all stories except for 'Arcana Magi Universe: Shorts Collection' and 'The Impossible Man'. I'm going to compile all of the stories that I had released on Kindle with all of the stories I wrote in 'The Compilation of Prose and Thought', where I will most likely seek a publishing house from there. I'm leaving the aforementioned stories in Kindle for the time being.
[Arcana Magi Universe]
The re-writes will happen in August, however, when I will release them will not have a time frame. This is due to time constraints and focus on 'Splatterbomb™' and other tabletop games. So keep an eye on Twitter or 'Quick NOTES' for when I post the re-writes on Fictionaut.
Just a forewarning, not all the Arcana Magi stories are going to get re-write because many had undergone that years ago like 'Arcana Magi Zero Vol. 1-3' and 'Arcana Magi Cross'. This is really more for 'Memorial', 'Pure', 'Zero's' Arc series.
[Splatterbomb™]
Splatterbomb is now in submission stage. Notifications on the state of the game and franchise from here on will be in the dark. There will be no more releases of new T-shirts on Spreadshirt, what is available will remain until further notice. 'Peanut Butter Jelly (Splatterbomb™ Theme)' will continue to remain available on iTunes and Amazon as planned. There will be no more playtesting for 'Splatterbomb'.
-So this is the situation at the moment. Please stay tuned to Twitter, Facebook and Blogspot for any new announcements or changes to scheduling. Thank you very much.

Wednesday Rants: May 2016 Edition
Greetings Fellow Readers! Welcome to another round of ranting. 'Arcana Magi' Season 6 is nearing its end, Splatterbomb™ has reached its next chapter, and a new tabletop game is ready to be talked about. So let's get ranting.
[Arcana Magi Universe]
Okay, so I'm sure many of you have read the previous chapters and are screaming - "MORE NEW ENEMIES?!". Well this is part of a big plan that I had been working on when I decided to make multiple universes. I wasn't sure how long this was going to take or when I should bring it to light without ruining the other stories. However, my mistakes in 'Memorial Vol. 6', didn't force my hand per se, it more or less told me the time is now before everything falls apart. These new villains also tie into the Arcana Magi Deck Building Game that I am currently working on. Now if you feel skeptical about this being a big plan, you only have to look at the 'Arcana Magi' novel in the Suzaku Universe where I planted the seeds, but needed time to grow and cultivate. I don't want to say anything more, lest I risk ruining the stories, but the final 2 chapters will answer some stuff that has been going on and prep the Universe up for Season 7 this October.
As for the Deck Building Game...
[New Tabletop Game]
So, Arcana Magi the Deck Building Game is still in development, however, because I had little knowledge of the Deck Building Games when I started development, I found myself overwhelmed and overthinking. So, I took a step back and decided to start basic.
Introducing...
The Savage Strikers: The Deck Building Game.
This was a game I fell back on to understand how to develop a Deck Building Game. It is a tournament fighting game where you choose 1 of 9 fighters to take on your opponent and deplete the health to knock them out. some elements that I developed in 'Arcana Magi Deck Building Game', found its way into the 'Savage Strikers', however, new elements that was developed in the 'Savage Strikers' are going to find their way into 'Arcana Magi'. If that makes any sense at all. Pretty what I am learning in developing the 'Savage Strikers' are going to help in the development of 'Arcana Magi'. At first I thought about making 'Arcana Magi' an expansion to the 'Savage Strikers' ala crossover, but I decided to let it be it's own Deck Building Game. Proof of Concepts show that it is possible, but it will take longer compared to how fast I got 'Savage Strikers' done this year.
As for the Savage Strikers itself. The game is almost ready for submission process. I am just dealing with balancing issues in playtesting, but I will be formally announcing all playtest events that Savage Strikers will appear in.
[Splatterbomb™]
'Splatterbomb' is in submission stages now. Playtesting is still ongoing to deal with card text balance, but that's about it. The game last 30-45 mins and has been working on all cylinders. Since I am in submission stages, all new T-Shirts will be put on hold until results are in. You can still purchase T-Shirts at Spreadshirt.com and grab a copy of 'Peanut Butter Jelly (Spaltterbomb™ Theme)' at iTunes or Amazon.
[Vacation]
So this June, I am taking a month long vacation, only focusing on 'Splatterbomb', 'The Savage Strikers', and 'Arcana Magi: Deck Building Game' development. There will be no 'NEWS and NOTES', 'Wednesday Rants', releases, or public announcements. This whole year is going to be hectic with trying to get 'Splatterbomb' published and developing the 'Savage Strikers' and 'Arcana Magi', I'll need as much focus as possible.
I will return on July 11 with 'NEWS and NOTES' since Independence Day falls on the first Monday of the Month. I will post a Twitter announcement if there is any Playtest Events in the first week of July from the 4th to the 9th.
So please enjoy the last two chapters of 'Arcana Magi Zero'. I hope they will get you all hyped for Season 7 this October. Thank you all for your patience with what happened in 'Memorial' and sticking with me through 'Zero'.
Until Next July...
See ya.

Wednesday Rants: April 2016 Edition
Greeting Fellow Readers! Welcome to an early edition of the Wednesday Rants, due to a schedule meeting tonight. The last leg of 'Arcana Magi' Season is underway and I do have to address what happened last month, so let us begin.
[Arcana Magi Memorial]
I really forgot to talk about this in the last rants and I didn't even realize this. What I was supposed to talk about last month was that I was not going to be able to end the series as planned. When I did the outline for the upcoming chapters, I realized the series was dragging on and that I could not end the story abruptly, leaving unresolved stuff in the story. Because I failed to talk about this in the last Rants, my decision came off haphazard and inexperienced. It also didn't help when decisions in the previous volumes came back to haunt me in the last volume. As I have said before a long time ago, Fictionaut is usually treated as my training ground to learn about writing and improve my skills. It seems I really do have a lot more to learn than ever.
I apologize to all of you who was anticipating the conclusion to this long series, especially after all these years. I will end the series next season, now that I got everything in place. So please join me next season to help end the series on a strong note.
[Arcana Magi Universe]
So, 'Arcana Magi Zero's' 2nd Arc is underway. I chose Arc instead Volume because I already used that for the short stories. Please bear in mind I did not have planned to make Arcana Magi this big when I first wrote the original Shorts Stories. I am looking to see if I can tie the universe up with the Deck Building Card Game that I am currently working. It should not be difficult, I already have an idea how to link it all together. Chapter 2 is next Friday at 10 PM EST on Fictionaut.
As for the game itself, I got good a Proof of Concept first look at the game last month. However, I am also creating another Deck Building Game and I took some of the concepts from Arcana Magi and applied it into this game. I am considering whether to implement Arcana Magi into this game's system or let Arcana Magi be its own game. But, considering that I have taken game mechanics from Arcana Magi and put into this current game, it might seem more logical to put Arcana Magi as an expansion to that game instead of being on its own. I'll see more as game development moves along.
[Splatterbomb™]
Development is nearing its end. At this point I am assigning scores to cards and taking a preliminary look at some publishers. I have not decided yet who I will submit to. I am hoping to begin submissions in May. However, once I make the submission, I will be going dark regarding the game for legal and business reasons. So what am I going to do once that is taken care of?
Well I will working on some small proof of concepts videos, probably only 1, and post that up on my Studio Coqui Youtube channel. I am doing research on some things before I can start working on this little Splatterbomb Project. It may not be much, but I hope it generates some fun upon viewing.
The Splatterbomb T-Shirts are going to continue to be put on hold until I settle the board game down. I do need to update the description section and implement some lore for the characters and items.
I will probably look into doing some Splatterbomb stories for Kindle. That's on the list but not moving up on said list right now. That decision will come later this year.
[Other Thoughts]
There will be another playtest this Saturday at Whole Food Tribeca starting at Noon. Please join all of us local game developers as we continue to showcase and playtest all of game designs.
I May take Summer break this June for the entire month. Which means no 'NEWS and NOTES' or 'Wednesday Rants'. It all hinges what happens next month in May, which I will announce in next months Wednesday Rants.
That's all the thoughts I have for this month. I thank you all for listening to my Rants.
Until next time...
See ya.

See ya.
